Whilst not quite Blur vs Oasis, the battle between Facebook and every-other-social-network seems to have ramped up again this week with a heap of new/improved functionality.
The sharing functionality, which is not unlike the reblog option on Tumblr, has been improved (and seems to be working well on the DiS facebook page). And they’re also giving G+ the finger by now allowing anyone to subscribe to your profile. I’ve switched this on and turned my default for most things to public, so if anyone wants to see what I’m bashing the like button on (sometimes for things I love) and shitlikethat you’ll find me here: http://facebook.com/seaninsound
I’m now looking forward to a time when I can flip some ‘friends’ into being subscribers, so that my feed becomes a little more manageable - although I’ve hidden most people and don’t really ‘use’ Facebook as much as Twitter. Probably some passive agressive way I could do this by messaging them saying bye but I have better things to do.
